Your First Visit

What to expect when you visit the office for the first time

 
Vitality Multitherapy Clinic ReceptionWhen you first walk in the door you will be greeted by one of our cheerful clinical assistants.

You will then be asked to fill out some admitting paperwork along with a general health questionnaire or click here download, print and fill in the forms prior to arriving.

If you prefer to fill the forms out in the office, great- we ask that you get here at least 15 minutes before your appointment.

Initial Consultation

 
Once the paperwork is filled you will then begin your consultation with Dr. Landry.

The purpose of the one on one consultation is to discuss your health issues, concerns and goals. Uncover layers of past trauma/damage and help determine the cause of your health issues.

The initial consultation serves a second purpose as it also gives you a chance to get to know Dr. Landry and see if the office is the right place for you.

Examination

 
West Island Chiropractic Dr Sean LandryDr. Landry will then proceed with a thorough examination to help determine how he can help you most and whether or not you are a candidate for Chiropractic Care.

A comprehensive chiropractic, postural, orthopedic and neurological evaluation will be performed to determine the exact cause of your health problems. Various tests will be performed to locate the root cause of any dysfunction or disease within your body.

Please bring a pair of shorts and a t-shirt (or tank top) with you during the exam as you may be asked to:

  • Bend forward, sideways, or backwards – Misaligned spinal vertebrae can be revealed during this exercise.
  • Perform specific orthopedic tests – help to determine the exact components involved in your health problems.
  • Gait Analysis – Evaluating your gait (how you walk) helps to determine if you have a normal walking pattern. Abnormalities in the balance and alignment within your pelvis and spine can be seen during this assessment.
  • Postural Evaluation – Posture abnormalities will reveal whether or not you have misalignment’s within the spinal column.
  • Motion and Static Palpation of the spine and extremities – to explore the alignment of your spine and other structures, as well as provide information on what may be causing pain or discomfort.
  • Muscle tests and reflexes – to gauge the brain/body connection in its ability to generate forces.

 
 
Chiropractor West IslandVital information regarding your sensory/motor skills, balance, and gait, are obtained through these exercises leading to a better understanding of your current state of health. They help determine your range of motion, muscle tone, strength and overall integrity of your nervous system.

If necessary, X-rays may be requested. Should you already have X-rays (or an MRI), please bring them with you for Dr. Landry to review.

After your consultation and assessment are finished, your 2nd visit will be scheduled where you will receive your Report of Findings and recommendations from Dr. Landry.

Expect to spend approximately 45 minutes during your first visit.
